Graduates in Languages for Business and Development will be able to:
- organise and coordinate the economic, financial, and legal relations of Italian authorities and organisations with their foreign counterparts;
- draw up texts and contents for multimedia communication in foreign languages;
- review and edit the translation of (specialised) texts necessary to the functioning of authorities and organisations, both from foreign languages into Italian and from Italian into foreign languages;
- develop projects for international activities;
- plan and manage communication, production, and marketing activities aimed at foreign countries, as well as develop promotional and advertising activities.
In addition, the MA degree in Languages for Business and Development is an entry qualification for teaching positions in Foreign Languages and Cultures in Upper Secondary Schools (A24) and English Language and a Second EU Language in Lower Secondary Schools (A25), according to current Italian legislation (Presidential Decree no. 19 of 14.2.2016).
The knowledge provided within this Master's degree programme can also serve as a foundation for careers in research.
Cooperation consultants and linguistic and cultural mediators in public and private settings
Graduate prospects:
- Experts within organisations involved in development cooperation
- Experts within national and international public and private agencies, educational institutions, organisations and authorities working in intercultural and multilingual contexts
- Consultants in language and cultural mediation within diplomatic representations (embassies and consulates), European Union institutions (European Parliament, European Commission) and other national and international organisations, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Experts within organisations providing Italian language courses and other services to migrants
- Language consultants and cultural mediators in detention centres
- Language experts in associations, foundations and cultural cooperatives

Graduates in Languages for Business and Development will be able to:
- organise and coordinate cultural exchanges within the framework of initiatives promoted by public administrations, institutions and other organisations, including supranational, public or private ones;
- organise linguistic and cultural mediation activities in public and private institutions (courts, detention centres, immigrant reception centres, national and international voluntary work and support centres);
- contribute to language and intercultural mediation projects within education and training institutions;
- draw up informative and argumentative texts for both local and global institutions;
- carry out consulting or management activities for organisations working in cooperation and development, even in conflict contexts.
